STEIFF EVENT AT TEDDY STATION SOUTHEND ON SEA

A PRESTIGIOUS STEIFF EVENT AT TEDDY STATION

Founded in 2009 by Babs & Steve Kohler, Teddy Station has been bucking the trend of many Southend High Street retail stores by improving its sales performance this year. After starting their business in the middle of the recession, the Kohlers are looking forward to their third Christmas, selling teddy bears and related accessories at their 1st floor shop in Victoria Plaza shopping centre.

“We started out as a small, make-your-own teddy shop selling teddy bear clothes and hosting children’s teddy parties, but we soon had change our business plan to encourage the more mature teddy bear lover to attract midweek sales,” says Steve. “So last year, we began to stock collectable Steiff bears and we now boast one of the largest Steiff collections in Essex with over a 100 bears to choose from.

“We were delighted to make contact via Facebook with Clair Steiff, the great granddaughter of Marguerite Steiff, who lives in America who sent us a lovely quote for our shop.”

On November 3rd, Teddy Station will be hosting a very special Steiff event at which the entire new collection of bears will be on display alongside the screening of a short film on how a Steiff 1911 replica is made. There will be a free raffle with the prize of a classic Steiff bear as well as free giveaways, subject to availability.
